Sailing the ship of life is not as easy as it seems! Meet Jacinta Aranjo, our Assistant Facilities Manager based in the Dubai OPCO who took the leap and has been recognized for her contribution to EFS Group.

Jacinta belongs to a family of 4 – her husband, Menino, and my two kids: daughter, Rachel who is in 10th grade and her son Joel who is in 5th grade.

According to her, every opportunity has a difficulty, and every difficulty has an opportunity. Jacinta began her career in 2003 until 2005. After which she took a break from her career to focus on her family.

In 2006, she came back with a bang and began her professional career with EFS. She’s been a part of EFS for more than 11 years. Her strengths lie in self-motivation and dedication towards her work.

She believes that it actually gets harder as responsibilities grow but life teaches us how to roll with the punches to survive and that it is not always smooth sailing and she is always looking forward to achieving more and strive to improve herself.

She believes to have been blessed with multiple mentors at various crossroads of her life and career, a mentor is a lifeline. The person that has inspired her in life is her mom because when the going got tough she played a very vital role.

As time passes by, she considers life is not necessarily any easier or harder than she thought it was going to be. Every single situation has taught her a lesson.

She quotes “I grow when I face challenges head-on, learn from them and remember to thank the people who have supported me. Sometimes letting go and redirecting my attention elsewhere is the most useful action to overcome a hurdle”.

Experience and learning have always been the most important value-add to EFS – it builds her strength.

What she practices larger than life is to be a knowledge seeker, take on new challenges and invest in her learning. She truly believes that someday she will take on more managerial responsibilities and doesn’t know what the future holds.

As she grew up, her dire dream was to become a Navy Officer as she used to find her dad’s uniform very enticing. My hobbies are very varied, Jacinta enjoys dancing but also love to cook and experiment with food and flavours.

She is also a keen gardener when the weather in the UAE allows her to be. When at leisure, she prefers to spend time with her friends and family and most of the time cooks with passion.

She still recalls the first trip she made to her home country where she just grabbed hold of her mother getting nostalgic about the times her Mom has been her guiding force. Being flexible, a decision-maker, a problem solver shout-out-loud from her personality.

She is a merited Soft Skills Trainer at the EFS Learning & Development Centre as well as the diligent FM Assistant Manager who continues to portray her best and most of all she’s the ship that never sinks.
